Merry Christmas 2003!

Hello Friends and Family!  Thank you for all the wonderful Christmas cards, letters and pictures. Welcome to our 2003 Holiday Newsletter!  Thanks for stopping by to catch up.  We hope you are all doing well and we always love to hear from you.

Chance is now four years old and Dax is two and a half. They continue to be our greatest blessing.  We are looking forward to a visit from Santa this year with great anticipation and delight.

After struggling with childcare in 2002, we finally found a solution for our childcare needs in 2003   The children attend a church school that offers a part-time option.   In January, the kids will have been at the school for a full year.

Dax emerged from having tubes put in his ears last February to become a charming toddler.  Last cold season, Dax suffered through over a half a dozen ear infections before he got tubes.  Once the tubes were in, we realized how much of his “challenging” nature had been attributable to just not feeling well.

Chance continues to grow like a weed, resembling his dad more and more every day.  He is a social creature who doesn’t appreciate the concept of “strangers.”

Travis continues to work at the Department of Veteran's Affairs.  Despite a long drive to work, he enjoys his work as a UNIX Security Specialist and has no shortage of things to do.

Susie still works part-time (20 hours a week) for the state but has switched positions and now works in the Chief Engineer's Office of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.   This position affords her the opportunity to examine air quality issues in all aspects from planning to permitting to enforcement.   The job itself is rewarding and challenging and being able to work just 20 hours a week is the icing on the cake.

Besides work and school the year was punctuated with tons of birthday parties, gymnastics classes (Dax started this fall and Chance moved out of the Parent and Tot class), park trips and pool trips and even an ice storm that left the ground covered in enough frozen stuff to have some fun outside with Daddy.

Travis ran his first Capitol 10K, Susie finished her third Danskin along with Janeen (Travis’s mom) and Heather (Travis’s sister-in-law).
