Hello!

Time for another quick update on the ragin' and ever changin' life 'o
Kai.

First of all an update on the China trip... it's going to happen!
June 13 I am off to the land of rice, Kung Fu, and cool pointy hats.
Weishi, my short but knowledgeable (and cute) guide, will be leading
the charge. We are starting out in Beijing where I'm hoping to join a
bicycle herd and have plenty of great food. After visiting the many
historic sites (like Weishi's gradeschool) we are off to see huge
walls, buried terra-cotta statue armies, beautiful mountains and
rivers, and, of course, Shaolin temple. Of all the temples where
monks developed Kunk Fu, Shaolin is the most famous. If you don't
hear from me for a few years, that's where I stopped to shave my head
(again) and become a Kung Fu master!

Miata is running great and becomes ever more fun with each passed
suburban, truck, and minivan. We just took a trip with the Austin
(Tejas) Miata Club that was a blast. There were nine Miatas to start
with, and five on the way home. Let me stress LONG way home. We went
way out west into the hills and valleys and around to lake LBJ and
Lake Travis. I had no idea there was so much beautiful scenery and
steep, twisty roadway out there. It was well worth the nasty sunburn
I picked up!

At one point the five cars sped past a now familiar brown sedan with
pretty lights on the top. It was hidden behind a truck at a
stoplight, of course. From the back of the row of cars I watched my
little speedometer climb swiftly, and then drop just as smoothly and
swifty as the large sedan and it's very official occupant swept past
and up to the car in the front. He gave the leader a nasty glare and
then U-turned. Five little Miata exhausts sighed with relief and then
growled back up to speed. Ah yes, saftey in numbers!

In other news I tested for and received my red belt in Kuk Sool Won.
Two more tests and I start the long, long process of earning my black
belt!

Speaking of Kuk Sool, time for me to growl, chirp, and roar off to
practice. My little blue steed awaits.

Give me your hopes, your dreams, your innermost desires, your goofy
stories... Make some up, I don't care!

Sooner!
Kai
